BILLINGS – We’re about to begin drying out again.

A wet weather system associated with a trough of low pressure across the northern Rockies has brought rain to the plains and snow to the area mountains Saturday.

A Winter Weather Advisory for the Beartooth / Absarokas remains in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday. Expect a total of four to eight inches accumulation above 6,000 feet with slushy conditions as low as 5,000 feet. Snowfall is expected to impact travel along the Beartooth Pass this weekend.

Warmer and drier weather moves back into the region along with a northwesterly Jetstream beginning Sunday. Daytime highs in the region will warm back into the mid-70s by Monday afternoon.

The forecast for Billings

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, a 30 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms and a low of 41.

Sunday: Sunny and warmer with a high of 68.

Sunday night: Mostly clear skies and a low of 45.
