BILLINGS – Billings School District 2 trustees voted yes Monday to ask voters to approve a roughly million-dollar high school operational levy in May.
The levy was recommended by Superintendent Greg Upham prior to Monday’s board meeting. The vote was unanimous.
Board members voicing their opinion tonight saying it’s time, one saying “it’s past time, and that we really need these opportunities for high school students.”
Upham told Q2 recently that most of the curricular resources are online, which is where a good chunk of the money spent would be focused on.
The high schools have not had a levy passed since 2007.
If the levy is approved, owners of homes worth $200,000 would see a $10 increase in property taxes over the year.
This is a developing story
