BILLINGS- As Veterans Day approaches, Billings-area businesses are offering discounts on goods and services for veterans. This year, Winterholler Dentistry is getting in on the giving.
On Friday, Winterholler Dentistry and Oral Surgery will host its first Make a Smile Great Again event at its office on Billings West End.
All day Friday, veterans and active service members receive any dental procedure that can be completed in one day.
Dr. Will Winterholler, a dentist at the practice, said that they already have multiple patients scheduled to receive dental implants but are expecting to do every dental process under the sun.
“In Billings, there has been a lack of dental care for veterans. There is a new dentist at the VA who is a fantastic guy who is starting to fill that void. But there has been a huge lack of care for veterans in general across the country, but more specifically here locally. I’m hoping that we can serve a couple hundred people,” said Winterholler.
Winterholler said a dental implant procedure would cost around $6,000 for someone walking in off the street and that they hope to do around $150,000 worth of dental work before day’s end Friday.
They will have food and drinks on hand for everyone who comes out, as well as a heated tent for those waiting to be served. A barber will also be on hand serving up free haircuts for those in need.
Winterholler said that they have wanted to put this event on for a number of years and the plans finally materialized this year. He hopes the day can grow in the future to include more clinics and services for veterans.
Winterholler Dentistry is open from 7-4 at 3737 Grand Ave. #8 on Friday and veterans will need to show their Military identification upon arrival.
