BILLINGS- The Billings City Council approved a contract with a firm to remove huge rocks that fell from the Rims and damaged a vehicle and home in June.
The Council made the decision to move forward with the $378,500 contract with GeoStabilization Inc. to remove the rocks on Mountain View Boulevard, which crushed a truck and struck a garage June 26.
Assistant City Administrator Kevin Iffland said the project is expected to begin mid-September and is expected to last about two weeks.
Once the cleanup is complete, the city will begin work to fix the damaged road.
A previous version of this story erroneously stated the City Council delayed its decision on the matter during its meeting last night.
