Firefighters are gaining ground on the Windmill Fire eight miles north of Reed Point, even as the size of the blaze grows.
The fire was estimated at 4,194 acres Saturday morning, according to the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, and firefighters have reached 10 percent containment.
The southwest part of the fire moved south Friday, prompting a temporary evacuation order that has since been lifted after the immediate threat was tamped down.
Air tankers and helicopters are continuing to offer support in that area, and crews and dozers are working with the aircraft to develop control lines along the fire's edge, according to the DNRC.
Firefighters are in mop-up stage on the north side of the fire.
Fire officials say they plan to continue monitoring the southwest portion of the fire Saturday.
Fire officials have not determined a cause. No injuries or damaged structures have been reported.
