HELENA – Jorel Quiroz has been charged with kidnapping and rape.
Police arrested Quiroz, 29, on Saturday after a woman texted 911 and said she was being held against her will.
The woman told police Quiroz demanded she drive him around on Friday and when they arrived back at his residence he assaulted her, threatened to kill her, and tied her hands.
She also told police that he had held a knife to her and at one point choked her with a phone cord.
Prosecutors state in court documents the woman feared for her life.
Following his arrest, police reported finding suspected methamphetamine and that Quiroz had to be Tased when he assaulted two detention officers in the jail.
Quiroz has been charged with several felonies, including sexual intercourse without consent, kidnapping, strangulation, assault with a weapon, and assault on a peace officer.
His bond was set at $100,000.
