BILLINGS — A man was arrested in a bar parking lot Tuesday hours after he allegedly robbed a cell phone store earlier in the morning.
Charles Rowton was arrested outside the Reno Club on Calhoun Lane in Billings.
Billings police Lt. Mark Cady said police were called around 11:15 a.m. for an armed report of a robbery at the Tesla’s Cellular Repair and Wholesale on South 24th Street West.
The employee said Rowton pointed a gun and demanded money.
The employee was able to identify Rowton as the suspect because he is a previous customer of the business, according to Cady.
Officers located Rowton not long after walking through the parking lot of the Reno Club.
Cady could not confirm whether the man went inside the bar, but said he was arrested without incident.
No injuries were reported.
Rowton is out on parole for a prior conviction, but Cady did not elaborate.
