Montana state health officials reported 173 new COVID-19 cases across the state on Thursday, and deaths from the virus also increased.
According to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map, Yellowstone County added the highest number of new cases with 47. Missoula County added 31 coronavirus cases, while Flathead County added 26 and Gallatin County added 21. Big Horn County added 19 new cases. New cases were reported in 15 other counties across the state.
Big Horn County announced earlier Thursday three additional deaths, but those deaths do not yet appear on the state report. Yellowstone County reported one new death on Wednesday. The state report on Thursday reflects a total of 65 COVID-19 related deaths.
A cumulative total of 4,602 cases of the virus have been reported in Montana since the pandemic began in March. There have been 2,964 recoveries and there are currently 1,573 active cases.
