Montana health officials reported 14 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, the largest single day increase of new cases in about a month, according to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map.
Gallatin County saw an increase of eight new cases, and Big Horn County increased by five new cases. Yellowstone County also added one new case.
The five new cases in Big Horn County were announced Wednesday afternoon by local health officials.

The new cases push the state total to 539 cases statewide. A total of 467 people have recovered, an increase of three from the previous 24-hour reporting period. MTN is reporting one fewer total case and one fewer recovered case due to a case in Jefferson County that local health authorities report involved a patient who was not in the state.
There are now 55 active cases in Montana, according to state health officials. Big Horn County has the most active cases at 27, followed by Gallatin County with 14 and Yellowstone County with 12. Ravalli and Missoula counties each have one active case.
One person remains hospitalized, and the state death toll remains at 17.
There have been 44,642 tests administered across the state, an increase of 1,194 from the previous day's total.
