LAUREL - Laurel School District officials have reported that a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a letter to parents on Tuesday, Superintendent Linda Filpula said school staff and students may have been in contact with the staff member, who last worked on Sept. 18. The school facility where the staff member works was not released in the letter.
The school district is working with the Yellowstone County Health Department and the school nurses to monitor and ensure proper sanitation procedures and guidelines are followed, Filpula said in the letter.
If any staff members or others are identified as a direct contact, the health department will contact those persons to determine the appropriate course of action, the letter states.
