HARDIN — Big Horn County confirmed Saturday that another resident has died from COVID-19 complications, bringing the county's death toll to 42 since the pandemic began.
A man in his 80s who was hospitalized died Saturday morning, according to a press release.
"The Big Horn County COVID-19 Response Unified Coalition extends our warmest thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, and the entire community of Big Horn County on his tragic loss," the release stated.
Big Horn County currently reports a COVID-19 fatality rate of 2.5 percent. For those over the age of 70, the rate climbs to 17.2 percent.
As of Saturday, there are 193 active and 1,656 total COVID-19 cases in Big Horn County.
