BILLINGS – The Yellowstone County Coroner’s office identified Monday 58-year-old Steven J. Gardner of Billings as the man driving a Porsche who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday.
Montana Highway Patrol said the Porsche was traveling westbound on Rimrock Road approaching 54th Street West. A Suburban was traveling eastbound on Rimrock Road. Both cars had a yellow light at the traffic signal on 54th Street West.
Troopers said the Porsche attempted to turn southbound onto 54th Street West and hit the Suburban. Both vehicles were pushed off the road into the southwest corner of the intersection. The force of the impact caused the Suburban to come to rest on its side.
Troopers said they don’t yet know if either driver was wearing a seat belt.
