BILLINGS – Billings firefighters raised money on the streets of Billings to help with Muscular Dystrophy.

The firefighters collected on Central Avenue at 24th Street West.

Fill the Boot is a nationwide fundraiser put on by the International Association of Firefighters.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association uses some of the money to help with research and finding a cure.

Fill the Boot also helps patients with Muscular Dystrophy and it pays for kids to go to camp.

“We had guys out here eight hours (Friday) pounding the pavement,” said Cameron Abell, a local firefighter. “And partnering with the MDA raising money for these kids is what a lot of them say is their driver. So helping those kids is something they love to do and it’s something we love to help out with.”

Saturday was the second day for Fill the Boot.

Firefighters were in the Heights on Friday.
