BILLINGS- Councilman Larry Brewster has resigned, and the city is accepting applications to fill his seat in Ward II.
Applicants must live in Ward II, which covers an area in heights, in an area north of Yellowstone River Road, Hilltop Road, Governor’s Boulevard and Senators Boulevard.
Billings Mayor Bill Cole is asking applicants for a letter and a resume and will appoint Brewster’s replacement.
The deadline for applying is midnight Nov. 26, 2018.
Brewster’s four-year term ends Dec. 31, 2019. The election for the four-year term is in November 2019.
Brewster told Q2 he wants to spend time with family, who live out of state.
Brewster has lived in Billings for 29 years and was on the Billings Public Schools board for six years and has served two previous terms on the Billings City Council.
“Councilmember Brewster will be missed,” Cole said in a news release. “He served the city and the Heights with dedication, diligence and distinction for many years. It will be tough to fill his shoes, but I am confident that we will have many qualified applicants to choose from.”
