LIVINGSTON- Searchers found the body of a 39-year-old hiker missing in the Crazy Mountains at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
There is no word yet on the cause or manner of the man’s death, according to a new release from the Park County Sheriff’s Office.
Searchers from Park County Sheriff’s Office, Park County Search and Rescue, Sweet Grass Sheriff’s Office, and Fish, Wildlife & Parks had been combing the area since Monday.
Searchers included three ground teams, three dog teams, a horse team, and a helicopter. The heli-alpine team from Gallatin County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue helped recover the body from a steep rocky chute in Sweet Grass County.
Sweet Grass County Sheriff Dan Tronrud will release the man’s identity once all family notifications have been made.
