Strong to severe storms are possible over portions of the region this afternoon.
A weather disturbance will produce showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and Tuesday night. Southeast of Billings, some storms could be severe with the threat of large hail and damaging winds.
Lightning strikes could start new wildfires.
Tuesday afternoon highs will be mainly in the 70s to low 80s with a mix of clouds and sun.
Dry weather will move into the area Wednesday and Thursday. Highs Wednesday will be much warmer, with temperatures into the upper 80s to low 90s.
Thursday will likely be the warmest day the week with highs in the mid to lower 90s. By late Friday, temperatures are still very warm in the upper 80s to low 90s but cooler air arrives area
The trend for the weekend is cool, with highs in the 70s to low 80s with scattered area showers and thunderstorms.
