MSU Billings started a new nursing degree program last fall and this celebrated its first graduating class at Cisel Hall on Saturday.

A pinning ceremony honored 14 women who finished the Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.

Students in the program have already earned associate degrees and have worked as registered nurses.

They worked as RNs and went to school full time, taking online courses.

"it’s very important and special for us to honor these nurses,” said Becky Anglin, MSUB RN to BSN program coordinator. “They’ve worked very hard this year. As a nurse myself, going through what was definitely an honor when I got my pin so it’s a very special day for me to these guys graduate and get their nursing pin and move on with their bachelor’s degree."

“Billings is definitely the hub of health care for Montana,” Anglin said. “So to be here right in Billings and also have this opportunity is wonderful. “

Anglin said 30 more students are set to start the program this fall.
