Q2 Weather: These are the hot August days of summer

Posted

It has been another sunny, hazy, smoky kind of day in Billings Montana. The temperatures have already jumped up into the mid 80’s.

Our Thunderstorm Outlook for Tuesday shows only a few isolated showers possible in central Wyoming.

The Doppler radar and Satellite imagery confirms that all we see are a few showers coming off the Bull Mountains in Musselshell County; everywhere else is just sunshine or a few clouds.

The Water Vapor imagery shows the next batch of moisture is actually coming from Canada and not the Oregon coast

However, by the time that moisture runs into the dry air in Montana it dries out.

In fact, the only place in the country we see any showers or thunderstorms is back east or around the southern Rockies.

Our High Resolution computer model shows mostly dry skies for the next few days.

Our sunny skies and high pressure could cook us up to 101º on Saturday.
