Our pattern of warm and dry conditions continues.
As an upper-level Ridge continues to build across the Rocky Mountain West, temperatures will warm Tuesday and Wednesday, with the hottest temperatures likely be Thursday afternoon.
Expect Tuesday and Wednesday temperatures in the 80s to low 90s in the afternoon. A few high elevation storms could develop.
A Pacific cold front is expected across the area on Thursday and will hike temperatures into the mid-90s before it arrives.
As the front passes through during the afternoon and evening, it will produce and chance of showers and thunderstorms for the entire area. Gusty winds and lightning with the storms will increase wildfire risk.
Billings forecast:
Tuesday… Sunny and hot with a high near 92. Light West winds shift to the North in the afternoon.
Tuesday night… Partly cloudy to mostly clear with a low of about 62. Winds remain light.
Wednesday… Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 92. Light and variable wind.
