Families and fishing motivate the Billings Kiwanis Club for its annual Fishing Jamboree.

About 40 kids came out for the 22nd Jamboree at Lake Josephine at Riverfront Park on Saturday.

The event was rescheduled for Saturday after being rained out two weeks ago.

Several groups and businesses were involved and the kids got a free fishing pole and a full morning of fishing.

The fish weren’t biting much, but the kids still enjoyed the day at the park.

"It’s a family event,” said Bill Clagg, a Kiwanis member and jamboree coordinator. “It’s an ongoing learning process. We tried to create positive memories. All the adult parents and grandparents have fond memories and they are the ones that brought their children and grandchildren here. It’s enjoying God’s work in the outdoors, and what a joy."
