Q2 Weather: Rain could be heavy

Posted

More rain is on the way, and it is not in the big hurry to leave.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue Monday. Areas of locally heavy rain are possible, especially from Billings to the West.

Likely rivers and streams will rise, with some localized flooding possible. Mountain snow will continue to affect the Beartooth Highway Monday as well.

High temperatures will be mainly in the 60s Monday, with some 70s through northern Wyoming and extreme Southeast Montana. Overnight temperatures will be mainly in the 40s to mid 50s.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms lingers through much of the week, but gradually tapers off. The best bet for the next warm and dry day is Thursday.

Billings forecast:

Monday… Rain showers with thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. A high of about 66. Northeast winds generally 5 to 15 mph.

Monday night… Showers and a possible evening thunderstorms. Heavy rain possible. Low near 52.

Tuesday… Cloudy to mostly cloudy with a chance of showers or thunderstorms. High around 67.
