Q2 Weather: Bands of heavy rain possible

Posted

Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Columbus to near Laurel to 18 miles northeast of Pryor to 5 miles northwest of Dayton. Movement was northeast at 45 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with these storms as well as heavy rainfall.

Areas of heavier rain are possible this afternoon and this evening as a storm system pushes from south to north.  Strong thunderstorms are possible and may favor Northern Wyoming.

Areas of heavy rain are the biggest concern, especially in areas west of Billings that picked up substantial precipitation during the weekend. Flood Watches are in effect.

Showers and thunderstorms may become less numerous but will continue to be a threat Tuesday.
