Kiwanis Fishing Jamboree rescheduled due to rain

Posted

For the first time in 22 years, weather forced the postponement of the Kiwanis Fishing Jamboree at Riverfront Park.

Whether it is music, sports or fishing, for the Kiwanis, it’s all about teaching children.

"It’s a lifetime sport that’s great for youngsters to begin,” said Bill Clagg, a member the Billings Kiwanis Club. “And there’s oldsters that go fishing that have a passion for it. And it’s peaceful. It’s a joy. It kind of gets us away and it’s a great time to enjoy God’s nature. And so we try to give a practical beginners experience that may develop into a lifetime passion and love."

The Billings Kiwanis Fishing Jamboree has been rescheduled for Saturday June, 30 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Lake Josephine in Riverfront Park.

The Jamboree is open to children ages 5 to 14.
