RED LODGE – In one of the most crowded races in Carbon County history, ten candidates battled it out Tuesday to advance to the November general election for a seat on the Carbon County Commission.
In the final tally, Robert "Pits"Dearmond won 36 percent of the vote to lead all candidates, while Gordon SIrrine finished second with 15 percent of the votes cast.
Both Dearmond and Sirrine will meet in November to decide who will represent District 3 on the County Commission.
In Joliet, District 2, Scott Blain had the most support, polling 60 percent of the vote. Also advancing to the November general election is Joanne Blyton who tallied 25 percent, while Gary Gray finished third with 15 percent.
In Bridger District 1, Bill Bullock and Scott Bloggio will both advance to meet again in the November general election,.
Bullock tallied 53 percent of the vote Tuesday, to Bloggio’s 41 percent.
A third candidate In Bridger District 1, Herbert Hoines, ran a write-in campaign..
Usually only one of the County Commission seats is for grabs during any one election year. But this year due to a resignation and a death, all three of the positions are up for grabs..
The three Commissioners serve 6 year staggered terms.
