Q2 Weather: Late day storms possible the rest of the week

The chance of showers and strong to severe thunderstorms continues each day through the remainder of the week.

There will be a continue chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening, especially for areas east of Billings. A stronger disturbance will move over the area Wednesday.

Some thunderstorms may be severe Tuesday or Wednesday with the potential of gusty winds, large hail, frequent lightning. A few storms may have heavy rain.

Afternoon high temperatures Tuesday will be closer to seasonal averages, with about a 15 degree drop from Monday’s highs. Billings Logan Field reported a high of 90 degrees on Monday, but highs in the mid 70s will be more widespread for Tuesday.

Temperatures Wednesday will warm back to the lower 80s for most locations.

Billings forecast:

Tuesday… Partly sunny with a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. High near 75.

Tuesday night… Scattered isolated showers and thunderstorms with a low of about 54. Generally partly cloudy.

Wednesday… Mostly sunny with a high around 82. Scattered showers and thunderstorms that could turn severe by the evening.
