BILLINGS – The Playhouse Parade started in the late 1990s and has raised about $600,000 for at-risk children.

On Wednesday night, builders unveiled this year’s playhouses at the Rimrock Mall.

Four kids playhouses and one big kids playhouse made up the parade.

The goal is to raise $60,000 to help a group of Billings area nonprofits: Habitat for Humanity, Tumbleweed, the Family Tree Center, the Backpack Meals program, Young Family Early Head Start, the Road Dogs Toy Run, the Exchange Club and Kiwanis Club’s Landon’s Legacy

The Playhouses will be on display for six weeks.

It’s been something that helps everyone involved.

"This is a complete win-win for everybody,” said Darwin George, Playhouse Parade president. “The builders come in. They get to make these things. They donate them. We have signs with all their contributors out front. They get great exposure. We have a tremendous outpouring of community service here in town. They do such amazing things for our kids and our community."

The drawing for the Playhouses is scheduled for June 9 starting at noon at the Rimrock Mall.
