Q2 Weather Update: Unsettled conditions heading our way

Posted

We have a beautiful Saturday Afternoon in store for us here in the Billings area. High temperatures are forecasted to get into the 80’s with plenty of sunshine. It will also likely be a breezy afternoon with winds coming out of the southeast.

This wind will shift to the west after midnight as a system encroaches on our area.

There are thunderstorm concerns in the state starting this afternoon. The northwestern portion of the state will likely see some storm activity with high winds, heavy rain and lightning.

This system will bring that instability to our region for the day tomorrow. This instability could mean a stray thunderstorm or two late tonight and will bring us a rainy start to the day on Sunday with better chances for Thunderstorms by Sunday afternoon.

Things will stay unsettled into the early portions of next week. Temperatures will also be much cooler to start the week than they have been this weekend. High temperatures will be in the 50’s for Monday Tuesday and Wednesday.

This cool pattern will reduce snow melt rates and temporarily lessen the flooding concerns for the region.

So get out and enjoy the great Saturday we have in store and be prepared for a change in pattern starting tomorrow.
