MILES CITY – A fire at the VA Hospital in Miles City late Thursday caused about $20,000 in damages.
Miles City Fire Chief Branden Stevens said in a press release the fire was reported at 10:20 p.m. and fire crews were on scene in less than two minutes.
Flames were coming form the roof of the building, Stevens said, but early detection and location from police officers helped reduce the damage.
Fire crews got tot he roof of the building and worked to extinguish the building generator, Stevens said.
The VA nursing home was checked and monitored during the fire. No residences had to be evacuated during the fire.
No injuries reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
