Q2 Weather: Warm, then wind, Sun then possible storm

Posted

The forecast is mainly about warm and dry weather, but there are a few wrinkles to talk about.

An area of high pressure will help push afternoon highs the 60s to lower 70s today. Expect plenty of sunshine and generally a light wind through much of the afternoon.

There is a fast-moving cold front dropping South across our region late today and into this evening. This is expected to produce some showers, especially into the mountains and foothills, and there may even be a little thunder.

Some of the higher elevations could see of rain/snow mix overnight. This front will also create periods of wind and isolated showers across the lower elevations.

With lots of sunshine, highs will be mainly in the 60s Thursday.

Temperatures will warm into the 70s and possibly lower 80s Friday and Saturday. A chance of showers and a cooling trend are on track for early next week.
