Q2 Weather: Sunday is the day before the rain day

Posted

Monday is our wet day this week.

Sunday will trend cooler than Saturday after a cold front swung through the area Saturday night.  Temperatures will still be warmer than seasonal averages, hitting the upper 50s to upper 60s.

Clouds will increase in the evening, with rain showers and mountain snow developing overnight.

Most of the precipitation will be rain on Monday. But there could be some snow mixed in to the lower elevations early tomorrow, with snow accumulations in the mountains and some foothill locations, including near Red Lodge and especially Cooke City.

Monday will be cloudy, cool, and wet, with the sun returning and warming conditions beginning Tuesday.

This should be a nice rain producer, putting down an average of about 0.40” to 0.80” across much of the area.

Billings forecast:

Sunday…Mostly sunny and about 63 for a high.  Light easterly wind.

Sunday night…Mostly cloudy during the evening with rain likely overnight.  Low about 38.

Monday…Rain.  Maybe some snow mixed in early in the morning. High around 42.
