Posted

BILLINGS – The Billings school board completed its interviews with finalists for superintendent at the Lincoln Center board room on Friday.

Ross Kasun is the last of three candidates interviewed this week, to replace Terry Bouck who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Kasun has been the superintendent of the Freehold Township School District in New Jersey since 2011.

He started in 1995 as a teacher in Summit, New Jersey.

Kasun talked about the possibility of working for School District 2.

"I’m passionate about teaching and learning and creating an environment where every student and every staff member can grow and learn every day,” Kasun said. “It’s something that I’ve done for many years, and I think i have a framework that’s worked in New Jersey. I look forward to helping the next district I go to move from being a very good district or an excellent district to be a flagship district. I really want to take one that the whole world takes a look at and says they’re really doing something special there for their kids."

Trustees interviewed Greg Upham from Helena and Rebecca Salato from California earlier this week.

The board meets at 9 a.m. Saturday to choose the new superintendent.
