What’s at the top of one Christmas wish list might surprise you: One Flathead Valley child simply wishes for a family to call his own.

Each new day is a blank page in the book of life, but Joey will be the first to tell you he’s ready the next chapter.

This 14-year-old knows what he wants Santa Claus to bring him for Christmas this year.

"My very first Christmas wish list, I would love to have family," Joey said.

He says when he grows up he wants to be a police officer, but right now Joey enjoys doing normal things kids like to do.

"I like to read. I like to play board games. I like to play chess. I like to play the guitar, mostly Lego, that’s what I really like though is Legos."

He also likes the Griz. In fact, he’s even met the players. "We went to the Griz game and the Griz won. We got to meet the players," Joey recalled.

Speaking of players, Joey loves to play football himself and hopes to share that passion with his new family.

"I would like them to teach me how to play any sport and please come to my games," he said.

Joey makes the most of his situation on his own for right now, and he’ll keep turning the pages until the next chapter of his life begins.

"If it’s okay can I please have a family of my own," he concluded.
