MISSOULA - A Montana Highway Patrol trooper was taken to the hospital after his cruiser was struck by an oncoming vehicle Monday on Interstate 90 in Mineral County.

MHP Capt. Jim Kitchen says Trooper Zach Rahbein was responding to a separate crash and was inside his parked car when it was hit.

Rahbein was transported to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula where he was treated for minor injuries and later released.

The vehicle that struck Rahbein was heading eastbound on 1-90 at around 10:11 a.m. near mile marker 16 in Mineral County.
