BILLINGS — Playing dodgeball for a good reason is what took place Saturday at 777 Fitness.

The local drag-strip community came out to Dodge for a Cause Saturday to ease the financial worries of a family suffering with the costs and emotional toll of cancer.

"We have a friend out at the drag track, at the Yellowstone Drag Strip whose wife has come down with cancer a couple of years ago, and he's having a difficult time," event organizer and friend of the family affected, Wes Nelson said.

"I ran into him this summer and he said that it looked like he was going to lose his house, so we are having a dodge-ball tournament. That's how they saved Average Joes Gym, we'll help him save his house," Nelson said.

Nelson said that he hopes the fundraiser becomes a yearly occurrence.
