Q2 Weather: Showers end, temperatures warm just in time for the weekend

But it won't last through the week ahead

BILLINGS — It is a warmer and drier weather pattern heading toward the weekend.

As our weather system moves into the eastern edge of Montana and the Dakotas today, clouds and showers will exit with periods of wind into the Eastern Plains. High temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s along the eastern edge of Montana.

Areas from around Yellowstone County and Billings to the west will catch lots of afternoon sunshine. High temperatures will be mainly in the upper 60s to mid 70s.

Temperatures warm mainly to the 70s with a few low 80s on Friday and Saturday. Overnight temperatures will be in the 40s to mid 50s. A week disturbance Friday afternoon/evening brings a few scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms.

Temperatures peak on Sunday, with highs reaching the upper 80s to around 90. Cooler air will follow with rain showers and thunderstorms increasing by midweek. Highs by Wednesday will likely be in the 60s to around 70.

Billings forecast:

Thursday… A sprinkler shower possible in the morning with sunshine in the afternoon. A high near 73. Northwest wind 10 to 20 mph.

Thursday night… Mostly clear with a low of about 49.

Friday… Sunny and dry with a high of around 80. South breeze 5 to 15 mph.
