BILLINGS — Good morning!
A cold front pushes through today giving us a chance for snow and the return of seasonal daytime highs.
Billings could receive 1-2” of snowfall with 2-4” (maybe even a little more) along the foothills. By late this afternoon into the evening, wet roads could freeze making your commute home a bit tricky. Banded snow showers could lead to lingering snow showers into tonight.
The area should get a break from the snow on Thursday, but it will be windy with gusts over 30 mph possible.
A backdoor cold front moves in on Friday bringing a better chance for accumulation through the weekend as it will be much, much colder. Models are suggesting the possibility of 5”+ Friday through Monday morning. Don’t carve that in stone just yet.
Wake up temperatures will be in the lower single digits on Saturday morning, afternoon highs will struggle to get out of the single digits, and we could wake up with below zero lows on Sunday morning.
This colder air looks to hang on for a long stretch, so don’t hold your breath for a return to spring-like temperatures anytime soon.
Keep smiling!
