UPDATE 4:45 p.m. – Billings Police Department has identified the woman killed in the crash Friday morning as 95-year-old Meryle Stansberry.
Stansberry was traveling west on Avenue E when she failed to see the stop sign at 17th Street West. She was then hit by a vehicle traveling north.
The accident occurred at 8 a.m. Friday.
BILLINGS – Police responded Friday morning to a fatal crash at 17th Street West and Avenue E.
Traffic was being diverted on 17th Street West with no through traffic and police asked motorists to use an alternate route.
Three vehicles were involved in the accident. Emergency crews were performing CPR on an elderly woman at the scene. She was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Another female was transported to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
