BILLINGS — Trending towards a warmer and drier pattern at least through the weekend.

Plenty of afternoon sunshine Thursday, with highs mainly in the 30s to around 40. Still below average, but with a light wind and the sun it could feel a bit warmer.

Mainly 20s overnight and partly to mostly clear. Winds increase around Livingston with gust possible to 55 mph.

Breezy around Billings on Friday, with stronger winds to the west. Otherwise sunny to partly sunny with highs in the 40s to low 50s.

Highs stay in the upper 40s and low 50s through the weekend, but another weather system brings a chance of rain and snow late Sunday into Monday. The trend will be towards cooler and wetter conditions early next week.

Looking ahead to the Thanksgiving holiday, details are very unclear but the overall trend is colder and wetter.

Billings forecast:

Thursday… Sunny with a high near 38. Light winds.

Thursday night… Mostly clear with a low around 26. Winds increase after midnight.

Friday… Sunny with a high near 50. West wind 15 to 25 mph.
