BILLINGS — A Hot and Dry Day on Sunday

Saturday afternoon temperatures were already 10 to 15 degrees warmer than average in many locations across eastern Montana and northeast Wyoming.

As a ridge of high pressure builds over the northern Rockies, a deep trough of low pressure is developing off the Pacific Coast.

The result: southwest winds will bring near record high temperatures and low relative humidity across the Montana and Wyoming plains on Sunday.

The heat sticks around Monday with another round of cooler and occasionally showery weather by Tuesday.

The forecast for Billings
Tonight: Mostly clear and mild with a light south breeze and a low of 58.

Sunday: Sunny and hot with light southwest winds and a near-record high of 95.

Sunday night: Mostly clear and warm with a low of 60.

Monday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high of 90.
