BILLINGS — It has turned out to be kind of a cloudy, sprinkly type of day in Billings. This is all thanks to a cold front that moved through Wednesday night and continues to bring spotty showers along Thursday.

In Billings, we have 77 degrees in the early afternoon. The wind is out of the northwest at 6 mph, with a mostly cloudy sky and light rain in the area.

Around the rest of the state, our temps are mostly into the 60s, 70s and 80s, although most of the 80s are few and far between. We see a few in the northeast and over in the west, Missoula is at 81 degrees.

Our thunderstorm outlook for Thursday does show a few showers across much of eastern Montana, but most of the big heavy stuff is in northern Wyoming.

By Friday, all the rain has moved out of here, and we are looking at mostly sunny skies.

The Doppler radar and satellite imagery shows mostly cloudy skies and rain showers across northern Wyoming. Some showers may be close enough to Billings to give us a few sprinkles.

Our high-resolution forecast model shows most of the showers are along the state line with Wyoming.

They continue to track farther to the south, following the cold front that moved through Wednesday night. On Friday and Saturday, we expect mostly sunny skies.

Our temperature Thursday will get into the low 80s, then roll back down to the upper 50s Thursday night. Then back to the 80s again on Friday.

We will top out at 88 on Friday, up to 93 degrees on Saturday and then roll it back into the 70s on Sunday and keep it there through the middle part of next week.
