BILLINGS — It was an upper level Low pressure cell that settled over Idaho that grabbed a whole bunch of moisture from the Pacific Ocean and Great Basin area.

That low directed all that moisture and rain into Wyoming and eventually Montana. Here in Billings, we measured 1.63 inches of rain at the airport from noon Sunday to 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Other places around the state had much more rainfall. We had reports of 4 inches of rain by Great Falls. This has caused numerous flood watches in that area.

Here in south-central Montana, our rivers are up a little bit up but nowhere near flood stage Monday night.

Here is a list of the of the top five wettest places from June 28 through June 29t at 12:30 p.m.

1. 2.4 miles WNW of Roundup 3.50”
2. Rapelje 3.41”
3. 10 miles ENE of Melville 2.11”
4. Molt 2.03”
5. Billings West End 1.86”
