BILLINGS- Hot temperatures are a sure bet the rest of the week. Thunderstorms will be isolated but could turn severe.
Temperatures will reach the upper 80s to upper 90s over the next couple of afternoons. Overnight temperatures will remain warm, only slipping to mainly the 60s for the lower elevations.
At the same time, a fair amount of seasonal monsoonal moisture from the Gulf of Mexico is also priming the atmosphere for storms with the potential for damaging wind and large hail. The risk is greater east of Billings, especially from around Forsyth eastward toward the Dakotas.
The pattern is likely to hold through the weekend.
Tuesday…Sunny and hot with a high of about 95. Isolated afternoon storms.
Tuesday night…Isolated evening showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise partly cloudy and near 65 for the low.
Wednesday…Sunny and hot again heating to around 97. Isolated evening showers and thunderstorms.
