Q2 Weather: More severe thunderstorms Tuesday evening in south-central Montana

BILLINGS – Another round of potentially severe thunderstorms are expected Tuesday evening

The National Storms Prediction Center has once again issued a slight risk for severe thunderstorms for much of southeastern Montana and northern Wyoming Tuesday afternoon and evening.

If severe thunderstorms develop, they could contain large hail, brief heavy rain and damaging wind gusts.

In the wake of Tuesday morning’s passing cold front, daytime highs are cooler Tuesday afternoon. Expect cooler than average daytime highs and scattered showers and thunderstorms through Friday.

The forecast for Billings

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, northeast winds 10 to 20 mph and a 50% chance of thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms could be severe. Tonight’s low: 57.

Wednesday: A bit cooler with a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high of 72.

Wednesday Night: A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, patchy late night fog, and a low of 56.

Independence Day: Patchy morning fog, a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high of 73.
