Q2 Weather: Changes for the weekend

BILLINGS – The chance of strong storms increases later in the week.

Expect above normal temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday, with most of the afternoon highs in our area in the mid to lower 80s. Low temperature stay mainly in the upper 40s and 50s

Expect sunny to mostly sunny days with isolated to scattered afternoon thunderstorms. For the next couple of days, most of the storms will stay closer to the mountains.

As a trough moves through the northern Rockies starting Thursday, high temperatures will be pushed into the upper 80s to lower 90s Thursday afternoon. Some strong storms could develop Thursday afternoon and evening, with gusty winds being a threat.

Temperatures will slip a bit Friday with highs in the 70s to about 80. The chance of rain goes way up. Some of the storms could be strong to severe.

Saturday is shaping up to be cooler and breezy, with showers and high temperatures in the 60s.

Billings forecast:

Tuesday… Sunny, with a high near 84. Light variable wind.

Tuesday night… Mostly clear with a low around 58.

Wednesday… Sunny to mostly sunny with a high back to about 84.
