Q2 Weather: Late season snow

BILLINGS – We finish off April with snow.

Wet snow will spread across the region from west to east on Tuesday. The heaviest snow will be into the Red Lodge foothills to the west of Billings.

Throughout the day and into this evening, the snow will shift through northern Wyoming toward southeast Montana. Showers will linger early Wednesday but shift out of the area during the afternoon.

Temperatures will be the chilliest Tuesday, with highs in the 30s to around 40°. Lows drop to the upper 20s to about 30.

Wednesday afternoon, highs recover to the upper 40s and low 50s. By Thursday, highs will move back to the upper 50s. The low 60s are reachable by Friday.

At least some scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop closer to the weekend.

Billings forecast

Tuesday… Cloudy with light snow. High near 39. Northeast wind 10 to 20 mph.

Tuesday night… Evening snow showers tapering off overnight. Only light accumulations. Low of about 28.

Wednesday… A slight chance of a morning snow shower. Otherwise, decreasing clouds and a high of about 49.
