BILLINGS – Changes ahead in the weekend weather.

Overall a fairly quiet weather day Thursday, but another round of wind and showers is ahead on Friday. An upper-level Ridge will bring mild and dry conditions Thursday with much lighter winds for most of the area.

Winds will increase around the Livingston area beginning this evening and likely continuing as a cold front moves through tomorrow morning. Gusts could hit 60 mph.

A quick moving cold front will push through the area Friday. This will bring a chance of showers swinging from west to east early in the morning through midafternoon.

High temperatures will be mainly in the 40s with a mix of clouds and sun Thursday in much the same Friday. Overnight low temperatures will be mainly in the 20s.

Winds will be brisk once again on Friday, with widespread gusts of 35 to 45 mph across the plains. Areas around Harlowton could see 50 mph wind gusts.

Over the weekend, a chance of some mountain showers and a cooling trend. By Christmas still a lot of question marks, but the trend is towards cooler temperatures and scattered snow showers.
