BILLINGS- The cloudy skies have rolled into the Billings area but it looks like the rain has been delayed a little bit and so have the higher temperatures.

They seem to be stalled down around Sheridan and Worland, Wyo. There, the temps are already into the 70s and 80s.

The temperature in Billings at 2 p.m. was 57 degrees with mostly cloudy skies.

Meanwhile, up in the northwest corner the state we have a Winter Storm Warning for one to three inches of snow at the pass level and 5 to 8 inches of snow above 5,000 feet.

On the eastern slopes of the divide, by Glacier Park, we have a Winter Weather Advisory for one to three inches of snow with local amounts up to six inches.

We could also see slippery roads and poor visibilities in Northwest Montana.

We also have a high wind watch for the Cody foothills for winds gusting up to 60 mph that goes into effect late Tuesday night to early Wednesday.

The main weather maker is a cold front that continues to drop its way down from the northwest corner the state.

It is already pulling in more moisture from the west riding in on the southwesterly flow aloft.

We think that cold front will come close to the Billings area by 6:30 p.m. Monday and then blow through Billings by 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

After that, high pressure will move in and bring cooler temperatures and clear out the skies.

Another low-pressure cell will move in from the southwest on Thursday and bring some more moisture up into southern Montana and northern Wyoming.

Temperatures will probably approach the upper 60s this afternoon and then roll back into the 40s overnight and Wednesday afternoon.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance for late evening showers and thunderstorms. Then a slight chance for rain overnight after 3 AM. Northwest winds 5 to 15 mph. Low 45 degrees.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance for morning showers, then mostly sunny in the afternoon and cooler. North winds 10 to 20 mph. High 51 degrees.

THURSDAY: Mostly mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance for rain showers in the afternoon. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph. High 49 degrees.
