Q2 Weather: Cooler and wetter ahead

and last updated

BILLINGS – Cooler and wetter weather ahead.

Afternoon high temperatures Thursday will only make the mid-40s to mid-50s with more clouds than sun all day.  Showers will increase as the day goes on.

As temperatures drop Thursday night, rain will switch to snow for the mountains, where several inches are possible.

For the lower elevations, some of the rain showers could include some mixed snow through early Friday.

There will likely be some travel impacts, especially in roads in the mountains and adjacent foothills.  Be aware that conditions could change rapidly.

Billings forecast:

Thursday… Cloudy to mostly cloudy with an increasing chance of rain showers through the day. About 52 for the high temperature.

Thursday night… Rain during the evening, with a chance of rain/snow mix overnight.  Low around 37.

Friday… A light chance of morning showers, otherwise mostly cloudy.  Near 50 for a high.
