Cooler temperatures start Tuesday.
Afternoon high temperatures Tuesday will run about 10 to 15 degrees cooler than the Monday afternoon highs. Readings will drop from the 80s to the mid-to-lower 70s for most of the area.
Isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms could develop in the mountains and adjacent foothills west of Billings both Tuesday and Wednesday.
As the jet stream sets up over the area for the rest of the week, temperatures will continue to rise only to the 70s in the afternoons and drop to the 40s to low 50s at night.
A series of disturbances will keep the chance of showers going, especially for the mountains. Even a little snow above 9000 feet is possible.

Tuesday night… Partly cloudy and dropping to around 49 for the low.
Wednesday… Partly sunny and near 74 in the afternoon.
