BILLINGS – When Billings teachers walked off the job on Nov. 7, 2002, it left a community divided as emotions boiled over, and Billings struggled to understand how this could happen.

The intense emotions from parents, teachers, students and others were evident in the Q2 News coverage of the 20-day strike.

Negotiators were able to call an end to the strike just before Thanksgiving. The community breathed a collective sigh of relief and welcomed some sense of normalcy just in time for the holidays.
